a little weekend update..

This weekend has been eventful so far. :)

We spent Friday night at Frankenstein's Castle in Darmstadt. We got the VIP package, so we got to hang out in the restaurant on property, eat the buffet and enjoy the evening, in the warmth. The boys, however, wanted to get spooked, so they went through the haunted part of the castle.

Today, J and I took a little trip to our local German mall, complete with a stop at TK Maxx. The intent of today's trip was to find winter clothes and accessories. I am happy to say it was a complete success! :) I found light/camel brown leather riding boots, complete with laces up the back (LOVE!), a thick grey infinity scarf, brown finger-less gloves with a black suede cover with a bow, some cold weather hats, a gauzy cream dress that will look cute with my brown leather jacket and new boots, a black skirt covered in paillette sequins (perfect for the holidays!), some yummy chocolate orange truffles and I found torrone candy! Yummy! It is so nice to be able to find things like that where we live! We really do have the greatest food at our 'fingertips' at all times! Perfect. :) It just means to keep my 45+ pounds lost off, I have to keep up with my work-outs, which I do, at least 5 days a week.

We grabbed some lunch after TK Maxx, at a little German restaurant, and it just so happened the city we were in was having a small Oktoberfest celebration, so we ordered off the special menu the restaurant had for that. My lunch was a meat filled dumpling, covered with a cheese and cream sauce, with sauerkraut underneath it all. So good! And, J had some chicken with different dumplings, served on the side and a pickled veggie dish..

We journeyed in to Kaufhof, one of Germany's department stores for a while after lunch, and I found a fab multicolored sparkly nail polish.

And, then, H&M. I was successful there, as well. I picked up 4 long sweater pull-overs in grey, black, navy and plum. I found a great long cotton blazer in grey, perfect for those days where I want to be warm, but not drab. I also got two tanks in grey and light pink, embellished with small rhinestones, that are perfect for layering under the sweaters for a little bit of sparkle. And, more cold winter accessories, including a braided grey head wrap, finger-less mittens in a peach color, and a black beanie.

I found 2 OPI Burlesque polishes at Douglas, a cosmetics store, one is a glitter and the other is a orange-gold.

And, of course, a trip to the mall would not be complete without a stop at Hussel Confiserie, our favorite place to get chocolate truffles. :)

We are now maxin' and relaxin' at home with Gluwein, pizza, and dessert while watching scary and not-so-scary Halloween type movies (more of the not so scary for this girl. :))

I hope your weekends are all lovely as well!

xoxo,
Heather
