Finishing Projects..

Ladies and gentlemen, I officially finished my very first scrapbook today. I didn't say it was the first one I started, just the first one I ever finished. :) I am so excited. And, it was Jason's birthday present. He loved it. Okay, okay, his birthday isn't until Tuesday, but today he needed some cheer, so he got it early (and we all know I am a little impatient, anyway..)

That is one reason I haven't posted in a bit.

The other reasons are:

I am learning Spanish.
I am finishing school.
I am finishing my website. :)

Stay tuned and look out, world! Here I come!

:)

Jiffy's, How I Have Missed You!

Jason and I spent this Saturday relaxing. I ordered an external flash for my camera yesterday, along with 2 umbrella/light stands for studio portraiture. I needed both things to finish my photography school assignments. :)

This morning, was spent at our church, listening to a great sermon. It was one that really put things into perspective. If you are interested, our church does podcasts. Here is the series we have been doing for the last couple of weeks. Today's was 'I Left the Door Unlocked.'

After church, we had lunch at Jiffy's, with our friends, The W family. :) Along with church, it was the highlight of my week. And, it was fantastic to be able to enjoy Jiffy's, the last time we ate there was around summertime, I think. Their gyro salad is amazing!

The rest of today I am planning to put more photos on my photography website, so sometime soon, I can share my site with everyone.

Looking forward to some homemade gumbo for dinner!! :)

Heather

MLK Day Spent in DC.

Fan decor inside Chinatown Metro Station.

Jason and I went into DC today.

It was the first time in we couldn't remember when since we have taken the Metro into DC and spent the day in the city together.

Our only planned stop was H&M.

I bought a few things, but the cutest thing I got was a little black bow clip.

We didn't really know what else we wanted to do, so we decided after H&M, we were going to grab some lunch at Potbelly's. It was our first time eating there, and we really liked it! Jason had their 'Wreck' sandwich with all the veggies and their olive spread, which was delicious. It had a kick. I had an IBC Cream Soda, a cup of chili and a big dill pickle.

After our yummy lunch, we started walking in the general direction toward Union Station. Before we got that far, Jason asked me if I wanted to go see 'Lovely Bones' at the Regal Movie Theater next door to the Verizon Center in Chinatown. I said yes, and Jason poked fun at me, because he said I said yes before he could even finish his sentence! :) We had over an hour until the movie, after purchasing our tickets, so we looked around Bed, Bath & Beyond, which is the largest one I have ever been to.

We enjoyed seeing the movie together and then took the Metro back to our station stop, got in our car and drove home. :)

Together Again!

Jason's back! :) He got back from a 2 week training course, and I am just so happy to have him home!

He came bearing sweet gifts from his day trip to NYC, last weekend.

He got me a new necklace. It is from Tiffany & Co.'s key collection. The idea behind their key collection is to symbolize something that has been locked away as much as it does access to opening up new opportunities. I think it is a perfect gift to start of the new year, because Jason and I have a lot of exciting things coming our way this year. :)

The second gift he brought me was a Junior's egg cream glass (and a matching one for him)! I had my first egg cream in NYC last year at Junior's in Brooklyn, and now I have a glass that tells me exactly how to make an egg cream! (By the way, an egg cream isn't actually made with any eggs.)

I have such a sweet husband and am so blessed!

Road Blocks.

Today was a trying day.

Thankfully, I remember that every day is a GOOD day, some days are just BETTER than others.

I wanted to get all my errands done today, since it was forecasted to snow tonight. I LOVE the snow, but I dislike driving in it, mostly because of the way other people drive in it.

So, when I got up and got out of the house, I went to our local dollar store for a few projects I am working on. Then, I decided, since I was closer to the highway, I would take it into the nearby city that I shop in. I never go the way I went today, because it is closer for me to take a road all the way to the highway, which cuts off a lot of the highway driving and cuts tons of stress off of my trip. :) Well, the one day I decide to go that way, they are doing road work and have the highway down to one lane, which would be fine, if people would get in the working lane, before the sign and cones, since they are warned a mile beforehand. Instead, they insist on cutting other people off who can read the signs. No big deal, it didn't take much longer than it would have.

So, I go to Ross. I bought some things for myself and my projects.

Time for Ritz, the place I print my photos. Jason and I always purchase their prepaid digiprint cards. Jason has the actual card with him. Since he isn't here right now, I got all the card's information from him last night. I didn't take the information with me today. I get to Ritz, and he hands me my photos, some of which they didn't give me when I went in last weekend. I tell him those probably weren't paid for online, in advance. He tells me NONE of them were paid for in advance. I had left my phone in the car, so I had to go back and get that and try to get the card's information from Jason. He didn't have his wallet and THE card, so I had no solution. The nice manager let me take them anyway and I assured him I would call him back with the card's information, so he could put that and my transaction in his system, so it would show they are paid for.

I guess it's a good thing I bought myself a Disney coloring book today. It's a great de-stresser. :)

I think the GOOD outweighed the bad today, though. I found a little black dress that had a retail price of 210.00. I got it for 200.00 off! I also got some dressy-ish new shirts. Another dress in dark purple and a gray cardigan.

I came home and got to enjoy some cleaning therapy and watch the snow fall this evening. It really was a wonderful day, over all. :)

Snow.

I love my little boy!

Look at this precious photo I got off him, today!

We are loving the snow.

I loved just watching it come down early this morning before settling into bed. I really do love the snow, and it has surprised me.

I hope tonight finds you all warm and toasty!
